Carbis Wharf B&B is a Grade 2 Listed building converted from a working Clay Dry, formerly known as Great Wheal Prosper. A section of the building has been preserved with the workings of the Clay Dry - used to dry the out the clay slurry. It offers character and local history all under one roof !
Carbis Wharf is situated mid-way between Roche and Bugle, north of St Austell, close to the famous Roche Rock with its ruined hermitage and fascinating views across mid-Cornwall. The Eden Project is only a short drive. The main attractions of the Cornish Riviera are well within a reasonable drive, the coast is only 4 or 5 miles distant, and it is an ideal centre for touring all of Cornwall - a drive of an hour or so either east of west reaches all parts !
We have 4 double en suite rooms and 1 family en suite room. The family accommodation is in a self-contained "suite style" with a double and a twin room and bathroom. We can accommodate groups of up to 14 people.
The accommodation is non-smoking but we have a courtyard with patio furniture where you may smoke if you wish.
We have storage facilities for your own cycles if you wish to use the off-road Clay Trails cycle route to the Eden Project and benefit from the discount on entry !
