Queensgate is a well-presented and well-equipped, semi-detached cottage in the small hamlet of London Apprentice which is situated midway between St. Austell and Pentewan on the B3273. St. Austell is centrally situated, and virtually anywhere in Cornwall can be reached in approximately one hour.
The accommodation consists of a small kitchen with electric cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave and washing machine ; lounge/dining room with colour television, video, DVD and radio/tape/CD player ; bathroom with bath and shower cubicle; main bedroom on 1st floor with double bed; second bedroom on 2nd floor with 4 ft. bed. Both beds have duvets and there is a tumble dryer in the upper bedroom.
The property has a small garden and parking is provided immediately adjacent to the cottage. There is a useful shed for cycle storage.
Electricity and central heating (oil-fired) are inclusive. There is no cot, but a carry-cot is accepted. Regretfully, no pets are permitted.
London Apprentice is fortunate in having an excellent restaurant and a friendly, well-stocked village shop which opens for long hours 7 days a week. Pentewan, 2 miles to the south, has a long sandy beach, a pub, a restaurant plus cycle and canoe hire. The village of Polgooth, three-quarters of a mile to the west, also has a popular inn where meals are available. The Lost Gardens of Heligan are approximately 2 miles beyond Pentewan, as is the attractive Mevagissey fishing harbour. The Pentewan Trail which follows the river down through the beautiful Pentewan Valley, and which is part of the National Cycle Network, can be accessed from London Apprentice and takes cyclists and walkers to St. Austell, Heligan and Mevagissey.
The Eden Project is approximately 5 miles away and the cathedral city of Truro can be reached within 30 minutes.
