Opening details: Apr-Oct
Penhaven, which is set in a valley of outstanding natural beauty, is a grassy level site only one mile from the beautiful sandy beach at Pentewan. A warm, friendly welcome awaits you from the proprietors who personally run this peaceful, spotless, family park by drawing on their numerous years of camping and caravanning experience.
They preserve the peace and quiet by deliberately not having a bar on site and feel you would prefer to enjoy the atmosphere of the many and varied good local inns and restaurants. The attractive village with its pub, post office, cafes and restaurants offering cream teas etc., can be reached by a delightful walk along the river bank which adjoins the site.
The Cornish Way cycle path passes the entrance and provides a car-free link for walkers and cyclists from Penhaven to Pentewan village and beach, The Lost Gardens of Heligan, the fishing village of Mevagissey and up the valley to St Austell town.
You will find many other superb beaches easily accessible by car; exciting Carlyon bay, secluded Hemmick, fascinating Gorran Haven, picturesque Caerhays Castle and Porthpean to name but a few. The Roseland Peninsula offers stunning coastal walks, unique villages and gardens to explore.
There are good facilities for sailing, fishing, golf, horse riding, etc. St Austell, only Three miles away, has an excellent sports centre with indoor swimming Pool sauna, plus facilities for various sports including, badminton, squash, tennis.
